Say I DO in a romantic castle in Greece
Besides the beautiful beaches, the islands, the mainland and the olive groves, really wonderful options for your destination wedding, we recommend you the Greek Castles, option that you might have not thought that you will find in Greece.
Here’s a list of Greek Castles, highly desirable for marriage ceremonies.
Your fairytale wedding in Greece begins…
Castle of Monemvasia
If you imagine a wedding within a medieval castle which is alive, full of flowers, small shops, Byzantine churches and traditional stone houses, then there is a medieval fortress town waiting for you with cobbled lanes, once the haunt of emperors and princesses, all with a view of the Aegean Sea!
Welcome to the castle town of Monemvasia, on the eastern coast of Laconia, in the Peloponnese. The castle and town are carved into a huge rock on a compact island that connects to the mainland by a bridge.
In this atmosphere steeped in history and romance, you will find numerous options for holding your ceremony whether you opt for a civil ceremony or an Orthodox wedding. Balconies overlooking the sea, small squares, luxury hotels or even sandy beaches and many churches will satisfy any requirements for having the wedding of your dreams. (visitgreece.gr)
It is possible to arrange the wedding and reception within the fortress, as there are hotels and restaurants in the castle, overlooking Myrtoo Sea and affording panoramic views of the castle.

Castle of Lindos
The settlement of Lindos is located on the SE side of the island of Phodes, at a distance of 55 km. Civil ceremonies as well as orthodox weddings can be arranged at the very pretty and perennially popular chapel in St Paul’s Bay with a breathtaking view to Lindos Castle. On top of that, there are many luxurious hotels as well as other unique and idyllic ceremony venues, restaurants and tavernas to host your reception.
The Castle of Molyvos- (Mythimna) in Lesvos island
The Castle of Mithymna is located at the top of a pine-clad hill of Molyvos. It is one of the best preserved castles of Greece. It was builded after the mid -13th century.
Castle of Kithira island
On of my favourite islands in Greece, is Kithira. Known as the ” Eye of Crete” due to the location of which “sees” the Great island.
There are much more castles in Greece, maybe I will introduce them some other time, but i think you have an idea so far, right?
