Chalkidiki peninsula

Chalkidiki also Halkidiki :

is located in the southeastern portion of Central Macedonia. It consists of a large peninsula in the northwestern Aegean Sea, resembling a hand with three legs, Kassandra, Sithonia and Agion Oros  which contains Mount Athos and its monasteries. There are many summer resorts on the beaches of all three legs. The only prefectural boundary is with Thessaloniki prefecture located to the north. Chalkidiki has no railroads or airport. Thessaloniki does.
